MANUFACTURING TO BUDGET

It is often the case with larger orders that we are asked to manufacture to a price. There are several ways in which we can take price out of a product these include: -

- Shipping by sea not air when time allows

- Using less expensive leathers in the manufacturing process

- Making economies of scale on long runs

- Using different packaging

An example of cost saving is the PMPC-ME3 passport wallet (shown below). Standard product is made in high quality soft nappa leather but by making the same design in a cheaper leather we can save (on the 1,000 rate) in excess of £2.00 per unit.
